CABA and KPBMA Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Advance Central Asia–Korea Biotechnology Cooperation
CABA and the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Seoul to advance technology transfer, R&D, professional training, investment cooperation and direct industry links between Central Asia and the Republic of Korea.
The Central Asia Biotechnology Association (CABA) and the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association (KPBMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing long-term cooperation between the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical communities of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea.
The agreement was signed in Seoul by Kamalzhan Nadyrov, Chairman of CABA, and Yunhong Noh, President of KPBMA, as part of the Kazakhstan delegation’s working visit to the Republic of Korea.
KPBMA represents Korea’s pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry and brings together companies operating across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, digital healthcare and related technology sectors.
Under the Memorandum, CABA and KPBMA intend to develop cooperation in technology transfer and localization, joint research and development, academic and expert exchange, professional training, startup development and investment cooperation.
An important area of cooperation will be the establishment of direct links between companies and research organizations in the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region.
For CABA, the agreement represents a practical step towards integrating Central Asia’s developing biotechnology ecosystem with one of Asia’s leading biopharmaceutical markets.
The next stage will focus on identifying specific companies, institutions and projects that can move from institutional dialogue to implementation.
