Organizations whose expertise, capabilities or programs align with CABA’s regional biotechnology mission may propose cooperation
CABA membership is a personal legal status governed by the Association’s documents. Partnership is a separate form of institutional cooperation for organizations that are not CABA members.
APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIPMembership is open to individuals who are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Legal entities may be admitted only where the governing documents permit it, specifically public associations. Companies, universities, research institutes and commercial organizations should use the Partnership pathway.
A citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan whose professional, scientific, educational, entrepreneurial or expert activity is connected with biotechnology or the bioeconomy
Students, master’s students, doctoral students, young scientists and young professionals who meet the applicable membership criteria
A person with a recognized contribution to biotechnology, science, education, healthcare, the bioeconomy, innovation, industry, international cooperation or the development of CABA
A legal entity may become a member only where permitted by the governing documents, specifically as a public association. Other organizations participate through Partnership.
Relevant fields include biotechnology, biomedicine, genomics and genetic technologies, molecular diagnostics, biopharmaceuticals and biomanufacturing, cell and regenerative technologies, agricultural, veterinary, food, industrial and environmental biotechnology, synthetic biology, bioinformatics and biodata, biosafety, bioethics, bioengineering, AI and digital biotechnology, technology transfer, commercialization and the bioeconomy
Membership combines participation in CABA governance with access to professional, scientific, educational, expert and international opportunities
Participate in CABA governance and the General Meeting with voting rights; elect and be elected in accordance with the governing documents
Receive information about CABA activities and decisions, and submit proposals concerning the Association’s work
Participate in industry committees, expert commissions, working groups and project groups according to applicable procedures
Participate in scientific, educational, innovation, expert and international projects, conferences, forums, seminars and educational programs
Use information, expert and educational resources and qualify for inclusion in the Register of Experts subject to applicable criteria
Receive information about international cooperation, grants, mobility programs, internships and projects
Membership provides a structured pathway to participate in CABA’s regional network, professional dialogue, collaborative initiatives and biotechnology ecosystem activities
Applicants are reviewed according to their professional or organizational connection to biotechnology, alignment with CABA’s mission and capacity to contribute to the Association’s work
Members can participate in professional dialogue, regional networking, collaborative initiatives, expert activities, events and opportunities relevant to their field
Admission follows five documented actions. Submission of an application does not itself confer membership
Submit a written or electronic application with the required information and supporting materials
The Executive Directorate checks completeness and, where needed, requests additional information
The Executive Directorate submits the materials to the Council. The Council decides on admission; membership begins on the decision date unless a later date is specified
Partnership is not membership and does not confer member status. CABA may work with companies, universities, research organizations, associations, development institutions and international organizations through separate partnership arrangements.

Initial enquiry, scope discussion, due diligence where applicable, agreement on the cooperation format and formal approval
Partnership is institutional cooperation with organizations that are not CABA members. A partner does not receive voting rights in the General Meeting, is not included in the Register of Members and does not automatically receive the right to elect or be elected. Partnership financing is not a membership fee.
Partners may include biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, universities, research institutes and centers, healthcare organizations, agricultural and veterinary organizations, food, industrial and technology companies, laboratories, diagnostic organizations, startups, technoparks, accelerators, commercialization centers, investment and venture funds, banks, development institutions, engineering companies, professional associations, international organizations and foreign scientific, educational or industrial organizations.
Long-term cooperation on programs, scientific and technology infrastructure, laboratories and platforms, production projects, commercialization, investment programs, human capital and international promotion
Cooperation on industry initiatives, expert events, science–education links, technology and partner search, acceleration programs, business missions and analytical products
Technology implementation, scale-up, production, contract manufacturing, pilot sites, technology transfer, localization, testing, production consortia and market launch
Joint research, scientific consortia, commercialization, laboratories, educational programs, master’s and doctoral training, academic mobility, internships and professional development
Joint research and innovation projects, technology transfer, international investment, education, expert exchange, missions, grants, foreign market access and attraction of international companies to Central Asia
Participation in a specific project, program, forum, accelerator, research project, educational activity or business and scientific mission

Membership follows the established admission procedure. Partnership provides a separate cooperation framework. Financial or resource support is discussed through the relevant institutional support route and does not itself confer membership.
